The Music Group is a dozen or so music lovers with 6-8 members at most meetings. We meet in the home of one of the members over tea or coffee at 3:30pm on the second Monday of each month. We decide on the theme of the next month’s listening and discussion at each meeting. Themes have varied from particular pieces of music (not necessarily classical) or different genres of music (e.g. female jazz vocalists, flamenco music), to the personal “stories” of how music has affected our lives or that of particular composers or musicians. Group members vary widely in musical expertise, but all discussions encompass this variation within an easy social atmosphere.
