Connect with others through the things you love at u3a

Branch Convenor

Welcome to the website of u3a Waiheke, one of the branches of u3a (University of the Third Age), in New Zealand and around the world.
u3a Waiheke was established in October 2020 as an unincorporated, non-profit society.
The purpose of the Society is to encourage members to undertake research and discussion on any issue of interest and significance to their age group and residential locality, and to their professional, intellectual and artistic interests.
The meme “Teach to learn and learn to teach” represents the fundamental philosophy of u3a that underpins the movement’s self-help, peer-to-peer approach to education for retired and semi-retired individuals.
The branch convenes a monthly meeting for a general presentation by invited speakers on any subject of interest to its members.
It has established two types of groups: for the study of a selected subject (Study Group) and for discussion of a shared interest (Shared Interest Group).
The Steering Committee is the decision-making body for the purposes of governance and administration.
