Medical Science

We are an enthusiastic group of mostly retired residents on Waiheke Island who are interested in exploring and furthering our understanding of medical science i.e., knowledge of medical research findings and health practices that are evidence-based. Future directions in medical research particularly attract our attention. As a team, we explore topics of consensual interest through our own research and teaching. Typically, we decide on a broad topic and then devise research questions to guide our exploration of that topic. Individuals/pairs then choose one or two of these questions to explore, seek out answers and report back to the whole group. Sometimes we invite experts in to help us out, and we make great use of YouTube documentaries, lectures and interviews!
